I am such a book worm! I’ve always been. I was the loser in class who would also raise their hands to read LOL #noshame. Something about reading a good book makes me so happy. It’s like I’m in another universe and I get to get away from reality for a little bit..cheesy I know.
One of my favorite things to get from Target are books. I can easily go to the library but Target has such a great book collection. I read a few books over the past few months and had to share my top 3. You guys, I loved these reads. They were so good and I hope after reading my post today you’ll decide to read them too!
PS- am I the only person who loves having the book in their hand!? I do have a kindle but love to have the physical book.. #oldschool
To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before/ P.S. I Still Love You/ Always and Forever, Lara Jean: By Jenny Han
If you are looking for a romantic comedy that you can’t put down you’ve found your book. This book series was something I read in a month and kept thinking about after. Lara Jean Covey, a hopeless romantic high schooler, writes love letters to 5 of her crushes. Address, stamps and all but never wanted to mail them out until her younger sister, Kitty, mails them without Lara Jean knowing and her life as she knows it is not the same. Peter Kavinsky, the most popular boy in high school, is one of the 5 to receive her letters. When Lara Jean and Peter decide to “pretend date” to make Peter’s ex jealous, feelings develop. Throughout the series you get to follow along the relationship between Covey and Kavinsky, school and family drama, past ex’s coming back, and so much more. Overall, It’s a lighthearted romance that keeps you turning the pages. It sure made me keep turning the pages!! Also- it’s now on Netflix! You don’t understand how excited I was to hear that it was becoming a movie! You can actually watch it now but I do recommend reading the book first 🙂 Picture credit.
Playing with Matches: By Hannah Orenstein
Sasha Goldberg lives in New York City with her best friend and is having such a hard time finding a job. When an opening for a matchmaker opens up, she uses her family’s darkest secret to score the job. You’ll fall in love with the way Sasha takes life with a grain of salt and becomes a new person through some really hard times. This book is such a modern take on love (Tinder and all), relationship fall outs, friendship drama and figuring yourself out in your twenties. When I was reading reviews about this book, this one stood out to me: “If you grew up with Gossip Girl and you obsess over The Devil Wears Prada, this is the book for your life now! It’s smart, fun, sexy, and deeply relatable for every badass babe!” – Ann Shoket. And it was amazing. The author, Hannah Orenstein, is the dating editor at Elite Daily! Says a-lot about this book 🙂 I’ve read a lot of books in my life time but this one was full of SO MANY SURPRISES by the end of the book! It took so many turns. Picture credit.
One of Us is Lying: By Karen McManus
I’m such a sucker for a good romance book I don’t know why but I guess I’m a hopeless romantic LOL but in all seriousness, when I read the synopsis I was pulled in. On Monday afternoon five students walk into detention. The beauty, the brains, the criminal, the athlete and the outcast. Before the end of detention, one of them suddenly dies and everyone is now a suspect. Police suspect that his death wasn’t an accident. Throughout the book you’ll find secrets, lies, and the truth. The book is such a page turner and by the end of the book you’ll be SCREAMING. It is so unexpected!! If you’re looking for a mystery twisted in with some romance, you’ll love this one. I know I did. Pay close attention, you might be able to solve this one before the end. Picture credit.
